:-*fairy. 'Lam mo di naman ako affected about Urian kc cguro immune na ko. I know tlg na Dine should get an award long time ago pa kc nga magaling cya kaya tlg cguro isa yan sa mga challenges ni Dine hanggang ngayon 'yan mga taong wala magawa kungdi gamitin cya.

Correct C Claudinian!!! But I read an article in Bulgar last sunday sabi wala naman daw kakaiba sa acting ni Nanay jack. I have no intention to judge her coz I really dont have an idea in her performance. Di ko napanod ang movie. But knowing nanay jack magaling talaga siya maybe it's not yet the right time for dine to get the grand slam.... but let's all pray claudine will win in FAMAS so she could be the next hall fame. Though, I've no idea kung ilang best actress pa ang kailangan niya. At least ang FAMAS napatunayan na natin na may tiwala kay Dine unlike URIAN, no!

Film Academy releases this year’s honor roll By Bayani San Diego Jr. Inquirer
Last updated 01:06am (Mla time) 08/14/2006 Published on page F4 of the August 14, 2006 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
THE FILM ACADEMY OF THE PHILIPPINES (FAP) has announced the list of nominees for the 24th Luna Awards to be staged on Sept. 16 at the Casino Filipino Grand Theater in Parañaque City.
Dubbed as the local version of Hollywood’s Oscars, this year’s honor roll is dominated by major studios, with a few independent filmmaker nominees.
“Our rule was, for as long as the movie was commercially shown, it could vie for the Luna,” explained Leo Martinez, FAP director general. “It doesn’t matter whether it was shot on film or with a digital camera, whether made by academy members or not.”
Entries in the Metro Manila Film Festival are competing with a Cinemalaya and two other independent films, according to FAP chair Espiridion Laxa.
Top contender Star Cinema’s “Nasaan Ka Man” topped the tally with 10 nods, followed by Regal’s “Blue Moon” with nine, Star’s “Dubai” with seven.
The internationally acclaimed Cinemalaya winner, ufo Pictures’ “Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros,” merited six nominations, including Best Actor for newcomer Nathan Lopez.
Completing the top five is Canary Films’ “Kutob,” with five nods. Other indie films that cinched nominations are “Mga Pusang Gala” with two, and “Masahista,” with one.
Other entries with multiple nominations are Unitel’s “La Visa Loca,” Imus’ “Exodus” and Regal’s “Ako Legal Wife,” with four each.
The topnotcher among the film companies is Star Cinema, with a total of 18 nods, trailed by Regal with 14.
Last year’s Best Actress Claudine Barretto (for “Milan”) copped two lead actress nominations this year, for “Nasaan” and “Dubai.”
Another double threat is Irma Adlawan, in the running for Lead (“Mga Pusang Gala”) and Supporting Actress (“Nasaan”).
Partial list Here’s a partial list of nominees: Best Picture: “Maximo,” “Blue Moon,” “Dubai,” “La Visa Loca,” “Nasaan Ka Man.” Best Director: Joel Lamangan, “Blue Moon”; Cholo Laurel, “Nasaan”; Mark Meily “La Visa”; Rory Quintos, “Dubai”; Auraeus Solito, “Maximo.” Best Actress: Zsazsa Padilla, “Ako Legal Wife”; Boots Anson-Roa, “Blue Moon.” Best Actor: Marvin Agustin, “Kutob”; Ricky Davao, “Mga Pusang Gala”; Eddie Garcia “Blue Moon”; Dennis Trillo, “Blue Moon.”
The Luna Awards is produced by Romnick Sarmenta and Harlene Bautista’s Eight Elephants.

FAP shuns Hollywood concept
By KAYE VILLAGOMEZ
The 24th Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) drops the Hollywood concept it has mounted over the recent years for a traditional Luna Awards in September, producers disclosed.
"I couldn’t mount that kind of production," told actress Harlene Bautista of Eight Elephants Productions who inherited the assembly of the annual awards from former producer Albert Martinez.
Instead of glittery red carpet entrances, sparkling borrowed jewelry, designer giveaways that create local version of the flashy Oscars, this year’s back-to-basics Luna Awards will instead focus on, "Filipino heritage sites and veteran showbiz icons," Bautista (who co-owns Eight Elephants Productions with her husband Romnick Sarmienta, Carlos de Leon, Allan Cordova, Hubert Navarro and Hero Bautista) revealed.
She added that she could never top the former production but is confident that the new concept will pull the 24th FAP through. "Hindi naming kaya yung ginawa ni Albert pero nagkasundo naman kami sa konsepto, Filipiniana ang magiging concept ng FAP this year. Dapat kasi press conference lang ang iha-handle namin dito pero nag-usap kami ng Guild then we submitted a proposal and they liked it so now we’re doing the production with our own ideas."
The new concept will involve celebrities whom the local industry has not seen for quite some time while awards presenters will include past Luna winners and the 2006 nominees themselves, Bautista divulged.
FAP Director General Leo Martinez revealed an expired contract and certain disappointments to be the reasons why Albert Martinez begged off from continuing the "local Oscars" he mounted the past two years. "Natapos yung kontrata ni Albert at nasaktan yata siya dahil nalugi siya kaya hindi na niya naituloy this year, ganon lang kasimple ang dahilan kung bakit nagpalit ng producers this year," he said during a recent press conference held in Quezon City.
Aside from production changes, FAP had to deal with delay troubles. "We were delayed because of the budget slash wherein we share a small percentage with the OMB (Optical Media Board) and Mowelfund," Martinez explained.
The Director General lamented, "Hindi kasi naiintindihan ng gobyerno ang kultura. Before we have the DECS to go to and air our sentiments and needs. Ngayon DepEd na lang so since education ang concentration nun at wala naman doon ang entertainment and culture, wala na ngayong representation sa gobyerno ang kultura. Iilan na nga lang kaming passionate about this, wala pang proper representation ang industriya sa gobyerno."
FAP also announced its list of nominees where Claudine Barretto is revealed to have scored a double nomination in the Best Actress category for "Nasaan Ka Man" and "Dubai," both produced by Star Cinema last year. "Because Claudine Barretto earned high ratings from both films, she was nominated twice. Hindi naman natin puwedeng iakyat ang performance ng ibang artista para lang ibigay yung slot at idrop ang score na nakuha niya from either ‘Dubai’ or ‘Nasaan Ka Man.’"
The following is this year’s Luna Awards list of nominees for the major acting, directing and best film categories:
Best Picture: "Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros (UFO Films), "Nasaan Ka Man" (Star Cinema), "Dubai" (Star Cinema), "Blue Moon" (Regal Entertainment), and "La Visa Loca" (Unitel Pictures).
Best Director: Joel Lamangan ("Blue Moon"), Aureus Solito ("Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros"), Mark Meily ("La Visa Loca"), Cholo Laurel ("Nasaan Ka Man"), and Rory Quintos ("Dubai").
Lead Actress: Zsa Zsa Padilla ("Ako Legal Wife," Regal Entertainment), Boots Anson-Roa ("Blue Moon"), Claudine Barretto ("Dubai"), Irma Adlawan ("Mga Pusang Gala," MLR Films), and again, Claudine Barretto ("Nasaan Ka Man").
Lead Actor: Nathan Lopez ("Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros"), Dennis Trillo ("Blue Moon"), Eddie Garcia ("Blue Moon"), Marvin Agustin ("Kutob," Canary Films), and Ricky Davao ("Mga Pusang Gala").
Supporting Actress: Jean Garcia (Birhen ng Manaoag," Cine Suerte), Jennylyn Mercado ("Blue Moon"), Ana Capri ("Kutob"), Hilda Koronel ("Nasaan Ka Man"), and Irma Adlawan ("Nasaan Ka Man").
Supporting Actor: Pen Medina ("Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros"), Michael de Mesa ("Dubai"), BJ ‘Tolits’ Forbes ("Ispiritista," Regal Entertainment), Ryan Agoncillo ("Kutob"), and Johnny Delgado ("La Visa Loca").
Film screenings of all the nominees are currently held at the UP Film Institute while the final voting for the 24th Film Academy Awards will be on Aug. 24 at the same venue. Directed for TV by Al Quinn and to be telecast over RPN 9, the Luna Awards will be held on Sept. 16 at the PAGCOR Grand Theater, casino Filipino in Parañaque City.

That is really very interesting to have 2 nominations in one category. Pano kong mag-tie ang votes that Claudine wins for Dubai & for Nasaan? Will they give her 2 trophys? Or will they just declare a tie-breaker where they will have to pick one?
It also bodes well for Dine that the committee decided to nominate her for both films because of her high rating. That shows that the integrity of the people behind. Kasi they could easily have been persuaded to nominate another actress instead of giving Dine 2 noms.
As for those gossips about Dine being depressed over her loss at the Urian, Dios ko, sino naman kayang nag-kalat niyan? For one, Dine is not a sore loser. Second, she adores her Nanay Jaclyn. I'm sure she's very happy for her.

petmama. Nice 2 c u here again. 'Musta na? 'Lam mo agree ako sa cnabi mo about Dine not being a sore loser. C Dine pa na she always count her blessings kaya naman more blessings are coming her way pa kc tlg super nice kc tlg she shares her blessings to others. About her 2x nomination, I have to applaud FAP or LUNA award kc pinatunayan nila na credible & fair giving body cla kc they can recognize & give credit tlg to those who really deserves to be in their lists.
