its a different story from all the other movies i've seen ..
its not feel good honestly, in a way .. but it allows you to see the hidden truths in our culture .. hard to admit but the issues presented often happens.
i dont want to give any spoilers, but the story transcends time .. its a love story that happens no matter what generation .. the dialogues were great .. the acting was superb. the plot has a lot of twists; some expected, but some entirely 'twisting'! "history repeats itself" sounds familiar to you? find out how and why by watching!
the movie also allows you to feel a range of emotions .. from classic jokes that make you smile and occasional laughters .. to the holding of your seats on frequent heartracing scenes .. to the sharing of the pain of the main characters especially claudine's (pilar) and hilda's.
claudine's acting of course was really pertinent in the film. eventhough the script has good lines, its claudine's expressive eyes that made the mark on my heart. until now, i can feel her pain in the scenes where she was down and out .. jericho and diether were convincing too .. their portrayal were so good that i was able to hate and love them at the same time. gloria and hilda were as always, charming and witty. they both gave comic laughs to the movie .. as well as wisdom and confusion to the story. haha, confusion? watch it to know! katherine luna's role to me was nonsense though .. it made some sense at one point but the story can live without her honestly.
overall, to claudine fans .. its something you never expected from claudine. looking back at all the movies she's done .. this got to be the heaviest.. and the hardest to look at in the sense that because of your innate caring to the girl, you just dont want to see her on the scenes where she was abused or harassed. but her acting was so convincing that you REALLY see the Pilar in her whether she's delivering dialogues or just sitting in a tub. if you think she was all the way talented before, you can say that again and again after seeing this film. this will make you more proud to be a claudinian. but then again, its not the usual feel good film that when you go out of the cinema, you can feel 'kilig.' for me, this is really an 'artwork'.
i suggest you guys watch this movie with open hearts and open minds. accept that the story presents facts, not hypothetical scenarios. this is not a horror movie, in fact its a love story .. just like with other love stories, its composed of fairy tale scenes and tragedy as well. i dont recommend seeing it with kids though.
so what are you waiting for? watch now!
