Please pakiverify naman the current gross of the movie nasaan ka man. may nagsulat sa thread nito na natalo raw nito ang batman. but i have read a news from the yehey.com that batman opens no 1. in the philippines. i am actually saddened by this fact. so hindi pala totoo ang news na tinalo nito ang batman. please verify this naman.
here's the article:
'Batman Begins' opens at no. 1 in RP Date: 6/21/2005 9:00:51 AM
The bat is back, and bigger than ever!
"Batman Begins" its domination of the Philippine box office by grossing a sensational P51.98-million for the first five-day of release nationwide (June 15-19), making it the highest opening weekend for any "Batman" film in the country, and second biggest debut for any film in 2005 after "Star Wars: Episode III - The Revenge of the Sith's" which posted P61.5-M.
This was announced Monday, June 20, by Francis Soliven, general manager of Warner Bros. Phils. which distributed the film.
The Dark Knight's five-day Metro Manila gross of a blockbusting P39.38-million represents 55 percent of overall market share, way ahead of the local film "Nasaan Ka Man" (Star Cinema) which also opened on the same period with only P11.24-M. [/b]
"Batman Begins" also passed the opening record of "The Matrix Revolutions" as the fifth biggest debut for any Warner Bros. film, just behind "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" (P61.72-M), "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" (P61.2-M), "The Matrix Reloaded" (P 45.34-M) and "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" (P45.29-M).
The first "Batman" movie to open in more than eight years, "Begins" bowed in 173 screens all over the country, with SM North EDSA posting the biggest receipts at P2.71-M, followed by Glorietta 4 (P2.56-M) and SM Megamall (P2.3-M). At fourth and fifth place, respectively, are Gateway Mall (P2.21-M) and Power Plant (P1.97-M).
Rounding out the Top 15 screens are Greenbelt III (P1.8-M), SM City Manila (P1.76-M), Robinson's Ermita (P1.65-M), Robinson's Galleria (P1.44-M), Festival Mall (P1.37-M), Greenhills (P1.22-M), SM Fairview (P1.18-M), Alabang Town Center (P1.13-M), SM Southmall (P1.12-M) and Eastwood (P1.11-M).
Directed by Christopher Nolan and written by David Goyer, "Batman Begins" stars Christian Bale ("Equilibrium"), Katie Holmes ("First Daughter"), Morgan Freeman ("Million Dollar Baby"), Liam Neeson ("Star Wars: Episode I"), Michael Caine ("The Cider House Rules"), Gary Oldman ("Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban") and Ken Watanabe ("The Last Samurai").
The film explores the origins of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight's emergence as a force for good in Gotham. In the wake of his parents' murder, disillusioned industrial heir Bruce Wayne (Bale) travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice and turn fear against those who prey on the fearful. He returns to Gotham and unveils his alter ego: Batman, a masked crusader who uses his strength, intellect and an array of high tech deceptions to fight the sinister forces that threaten the city.
How sad naman if this is true.

you would think na kasali di ba? but I'm not sure....tingnan natin kong the movie is still showing the rest of this week kasi di ba showing na ang movie ni Tom Cruise on Wednesday? So I'm thinking na if NKM is still showing despite 2 major Hollywood movies in town, eh Claudine's movie must not be a failure like what some would have us believe.
